Last week at SuperMartxé the stage curtains unveiled a huge pirate ship with sexy pirate dancers and a live performance from Nalaya Brown to top it off. We've tried to capture some of the excitement on camera but it certainly does not do it justice.

SuperMartxé attracts a sexy crowd with many of it's fans following the party night as it tours the globe, led by the one and only party girl Paris Hilton.

top 5 ferry trips from Ibiza

If you've been to Ibiza a few times already, you might be keen to take in some new scenery in addition to visiting your usual haunts. Why not hop on a boat and enjoy some of the other sights the Balearics have on offer? Here are Addicted's pointers on where to go near Ibiza.

5. Formentera

With a population of only 7,500, this is one small island that has a lot to offer. Formentera is known for its pristine beaches that mostly allow nude sunbathing. The stunning scenery is best taken in by bicycle as driving is discouraged on the island. Luckily, you'll find a number of places where you can rent a bike for the day in the port, La Savina, or in Es Pujols, which is the liveliest town on the island.

With its serene beaches, casual beach bars and slow pace of life, Formentera is the perfect antidote to the more hectic pace on the island so be sure to stop by for a short break. Formentera is only 6km from Ibiza and you can take a ferry there in 30 minutes.

If you fancy a full or half day trip around Ibiza that includes a tour of Formentera, visit Boats Ibiza as they offer great packages which also include snorkelling, wakeboarding and waterskiing around the island.

4. Majorca

The most populous island in the Balearics with a population around 850,000, Majorca is in fact the largest island in all of Spain. And it shows-- this island has got loads to offer and tons of variety. The Spanish royal family traditionally spend their summer holidays here, and if it's good enough for them then it's surely good enough for us!

Cosmopolitan Palma features a great old town that is good for a couple hours exploring. Don't forget to check out the expansive La Sau cathedral that took nearly 200 years to build. Afterwards you may want to head to the Paseo Maritimo area where there are loads of bars and cafes to regroup at. Almonds and olives are grown all over the island so be sure to sample them at local restaurants for a fresh flavour that you'll never get at home.

If you haven't had enough of the clubs in Ibiza, visit the resort of Megaluf. There is loads on offer here, including the absolutely cavernous BCM which occasionally hosts big-name DJs from the electronic scene. Be warned, however-- Magaluf features none of the sophistication of Ibizatown yet all of the trashiness of San Antonio. It is not for discerning clubbers.

If you're feeling flush then you can be in Majorca in about 2 hours, otherwise there is a 3.5 hour ferry service that is cheaper.

3. Minorca

Little sister to Majorca, this island has a population of around 90,000 and was temporarily a British possession during the 18th century. This can still be seen in the fact that gin is drunk throughout the island, combined with cloudy lemonade to make a delicious drink known as Pomada. Why not visit the Xoriguer gin distillery to see how gin is made?

If you've got the energy, consider climbing El Toro mountain, the tallest in Minorca and which provides great views across the island. You can also drive should you be feeling a little lazy, and there is a cafe at the top at which you can refresh yourself. Be sure to take in the scenery on the way up as you'll see fine examples of Minorca's rich range of flowers and birdlife.

For something totally different, try visiting the Caves of Xoroi bar and disco. This amazing venue is built into the side of a cliff overlooking the ocean. Not to be missed! And if you're feeling lucky, try visiting the Mahon Casino in the harbourfront of Mahon.

2. Barcelona & 1. Valencia

If you don't mind taking an overnight ferry then you can get out of the Balearics altogether to check out the happening cities of Barcelona or Valencia. Barcelona is about a 7.5 hour journey from Ibiza and Valencia will take you 4 hours, though sailings to Valencia are more irregular so be sure to plan ahead.

top 5 places to stay: the good, the bad and the crowd

The 2010 season is nearly upon us and the flight is booked, the new shades are bought, but you've left the place to stay until the last minute! Let us help you out with a round up of the island's most popular places to park yourself for that occasional disco nap.

Ibiza Town

The Good: close to all the action, great atmosphere.
The Bad: lots of noise, but a 20 minute hike to the beach.
The Crowd: the international jet set, dedicated party animals and bar aficionados.

Ibiza Town is the epicentre of the nightlife action on the island and a great place to stay if you love being surrounded by buzz. It's not for the faint of heart, however, as the noise can be quite oppressive at times and the town centre hotels tend to be great on location, but short on amenities. You won't find olympic size swimming pools or expansive hotel terraces here. But if you like to be a short stumble from some of Europe best bars, then this is where you need to be. Renting an apartment in town is a good alternative to the hotels.

Playa d'en Bossa

The Good: on the beach, yet close to great clubs.
The Bad: there are some families here, the accommodation is bland and the scenery is definitely resort-style.
The Crowd: beach bums, day clubbers, some families.

Playa d'en Bossa is a favourite among the many Space fans of this world as the superclub is at most a 10 minute walk from anywhere on this strip. It's vibrating hum is easily discerned upon approach to Playa d'en Bossa. This area is also home to many great beach bars that keep Ibiza's day clubbers kicking it all through the afternoon. While there are some families around here, it's still a great place to stay if you don't mind the touristy, resort-like feel.

Figueretas

The Good: close to Ibiza Town and Playa d'en Bossa.
The Bad: it doesn't feel that close at 6AM.
The Crowd: the calmest of the bunch.

Figueretas is perched right between Ibiza Town and Play d'en Bossa, about a 20 minute walk from either. Depending on where you're standing, this is either a blessing or a curse. Being this distance from the action means that the scene is a little quieter so this location is more suitable for those that don't want to party the whole vacation away.

San Antonio

The Good: the sunsets are OK. It's cheap.
The Bad: too many to list!
The Crowd: chavs, teenagers, washed up ravers, has-been English DJs, first-timers.

San Antonio is popular amongst Ibiza virgins and English ravers alike, but is definitely one spot to be avoided if you don't fall into either of these categories. While the sunsets are not bad, they are probably a little played up and out by the media. There are loads of bars in San Antonio and they tend to be much cheaper than on the rest of the island, but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for and San Antonio is lacking the international chic of the rest of the island. It sometimes feels like an ex-pat English wasteland in the sun, so beware.

A Villa in the Island Hills

The Good: privacy, expansive views, great scenery!
The Bad: you'll need taxis to get in and out, break-ins are not uncommon.
The Crowd: international party people, hardened ibiza enthusiasts.

The only way that the international party elite does Ibiza is by villa. Hiring your own pad replete with pool, terrace and other amenities is the way to blow the budget and ensure the best of times on the island. And if you have a large group of mates coming with you then the prices don't have to be too out-of-control.
