3. Dance Nation

If 'Rave light' isn't enough to impress your crowd, the Dance Nation app should do the trick. Turn your phone into an old-school LED scroller with shout-outs like "TURN IT UP!" or "GOD IS A DJ" in glorious neon. Okay, so this app might not have enduring appeal, but even if its a one-hit wonder we reckon it's worth the 69p price tag. Download now.

2. DJay 

Deep down, everyone wants to be a DJ. Realistically, few of us really have the skills - anyone who has had the misfortune to go to a house party where an amateur is painfully but enthusiastically scratching discs all night long can attest to this. The iPad app can help out the bedroom mixer by automating some key DJ skills such as beat matching… and can easily be switched to a mix on your iTunes library when you want to pretend you are mixing but are really just touching the screen. It’s after dark and you’re a bit lost in the hire car trying to find Amnesia. What road do you take? It’s 4am and you’ve just stumbled out of a club with a serious craving for some late-night grub. Where’s the nearest café? And more to the point, is it any good?
 
In the past, you would need a hardened Ibiza guru as part of your group to know the answers to questions such as these. Now all you need is an iPhone or an iPod Touch.

Addicted has just set our eyes on what could be the ultimate Ibiza accessory this summer: the ‘Clubber’s Guide to Ibiza’ for your iPhone. Released last week by Ministry of Sound, the application uses GPS to guide you to the nearest club, bar or restaurant. It also features reviews of every venue so you can check them out before you start walking.

For those impromptu ‘quiet nights’ when you only decide to go clubbing after the second bottle of cava at dinner, the Clubbers Guide can tell you what’s happening that evening and maybe give you a special offer too. Then when the night is over, it will connect you straight to a taxi company to help you make your way back home. The last time Addicted went on holiday, our suitcase contained more gadgets and cables than t-shirts (maybe it's a boy thing). Every year we seem to take more and more electronics with us, so here is our guide to five compact, suitcase-friendly essentials you can't be without this summer.

5. The Ibiza-proof digital camera

Ibiza is a harsh environment full of the three things cameras don't like: sand, water and nightclubs. Don't be one of the many people return home with a broken camera and an insurance claim, check out this brand new model from Olympus. Your Ibiza villa will probably be located in the middle of the island, down a network of local roads reached by turning off the main road at an obscure junction. Sat-nav will be vital for remembering how to drive back there after dark. It's also vital if you want to reach any beaches that are off the beaten path. Most car hire companies will rent sat-nav systems as an optional extra but the hire costs add up over the course of a week. It is often just as cheap to buy your own system and take it with you.
